When I document couples, I often think to myself “Don’t just take a picture, honor their story.” — and that’s exactly what I do.
Meet Natasha,
A photographer and storyteller at heart.
While I will forever love my romcoms, I know that real life love stories aren’t like the movies. Together, let’s embrace the moment, the mess, and the magic of it all.
Perhaps that appreciation is what brought me to the sidewalk of New York City Hall, where this journey began.
I would interview and photograph couples who were just moments away from marriage. It was there that I learned about the girl from Sri Lanka and the guy from Poland who met on a bus in the Bronx. She was about to get off at her stop, and he decided to just go for it and ask her on a date. And the partners who came to New York from Arkansas where they could legally make their love official. Their stories pulled at the strings of my rom com heart. I mean, how cool is it to think that even when life seems especially tough, there are people out there just finding love in the thick of it all?
So much of my work is inspired by my heritage and history.
As a proud Pakistani-Australian, I gravitate towards photographing family moments, which are deeply valued in South Asian culture. I have lived all over the world, including Sydney, Brunei, Pakistan, and of course, New York. As a result, I appreciate the beauty of diversity.
I’m an all-in kind of girl.
I’m fascinated with love stories, so I started an entire blog dedicated to them and became an elopement photographer. When I want ice cream, I will go out in the blistering cold to get it. And when you hire me to capture your precious moments, I’ll pour my soul into turning those moments into memories you can hold onto forever.
